Finishing works are scheduled to begin once structural and block work is complete, following which 80 homes will be ready for owners to move in November 2015 – a month ahead of its schedule.

The development comprises a total of 162 three- and four-bedroom villas, and will also include a district cooling facility. Sustainable features in the LEED certified project will include LED lights, solar water heaters, and solar street lamps.

Benoy Kurien, general manager at Al Hamra Real Estate Development said: "Bayti means ‘my home’ in Arabic, and the homes have been designed with families in mind.

"The surrounding facilities reflect this throughout, from the adult and children’s swimming pools, tennis courts, football pitch, dedicated play areas, and interactive fountains.”

Al Hamra Village spans 7.1m m2 (77m f2), and includes 1.5km of beach area, comprising 1,000 villas and town homes, 2,500 residential apartments, 5 hotels including the Waldorf Astoria, an 18-hole golf course, a marina, and a shopping mall. [ ConstructionWeeklyOnline ]
