Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority enhances destination awareness in London
Following Ras Al Khaimah’s successful presence at the World Travel Market, Mr. Haitham Mattar, the Tourism Development Authority’s CEO, visited London this December to partake in media interviews, meetings and events, promoting the Emirate to key industry professionals. With a clear vision to welcome 850,000 visitors in 2016, Mr. Haitham Mattar, shared with UK tourism partners and target media, the region’s latest developments and strategic plans for the years to come.
Ras Al Khaimah has achieved an impressive growth and diversification across its tourism sectors, gaining recognition as the fastest emerging Emirate within the UAE, while positioning itself as a world-class destination of choice for authentic Arabian culture and experiences. Mr. Mattar discussed extensively the TDA’s strategic plans for expansion, sealing cooperation agreements with UK leading Tour Operators and Travel Agents. The Emirate’s latest developments were also presented to the UK audience by Mr. Mattar through a series of interviews with influential broadcasters and media titles. News included: brand new hotel openings, the launch of Qatar Airways’ flights to RAK international airport and the Golf European Challenge Tour, to be hosted in Ras Al Khaimah this coming October. Last but not least, around 30 journalists and bloggers, from leading UK publications and online titles were invited to two exclusive events in central London. Guests discovered more about Ras Al Khaimah’s diverse natural assets, its white sandy beaches, terracotta dunes, rich cultural and historical sites, its wildlife and Jebal Al Jais, the highest mountain in the UAE. They also participated in an interactive quiz, during which two lucky winners received business class air tickets and 5 star accommodation, kindly offered by Qatar Airways and Ras Al Khaimah TDA.
